Keith Olbermann, the left-leaning commentator, recently remarked on his past relationship with Olivia Nuzzi, suggesting he’s fortunate to have moved on from the controversial reporter.
His comments came in the context of Nuzzi’s complicated romantic history, including being labeled a “sugar daddy” when she was just 21 and he was 55. Olbermann, however, sidestepped discussing the allegations surrounding his relationship and instead brought attention to a different claim: that Nuzzi had an affair with former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford back in 2020, before her infamous sexting scandal with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
On social media, Olbermann referenced Ryan Rizza’s accusations that Nuzzi was involved with Sanford during that time, calling it intriguing since Rizza is also a former fiancé of hers.
In a light-hearted manner, he shared a meme comparing himself to a character from “The Matrix” who skillfully dodges bullets, hinting at his own ability to escape controversy related to Nuzzi.
He captioned it with “This is me,” perhaps indicating his intent to distance himself from the latest allegations regarding their past relationship.
Rizza previously disclosed that Olbermann had supported Nuzzi financially, covering her college expenses and providing luxury items from brands like Tom Ford and $15,000 worth of Cartier jewelry.
He mentioned that while Olbermann, who is 34 years older, was generous, there were also stipulations in their arrangement.
Nuzzi’s memoir, set to release on December 2, 2025, has stirred up attention, especially considering her past relationship with Kennedy, which ultimately led to the unraveling of her career.
After news of Kennedy’s affair broke, Nuzzi’s professional life took a downturn, prompting Rizza to end their engagement.
Just recently, Rizza released a piece titled “Part 1: How We Found It,” shortly after excerpts from Nuzzi’s memoir started circulating.
