Keith Urban Discusses Personal Struggles Amid Divorce
Keith Urban appeared to express frustration over his troubled marriage to Nicole Kidman prior to her filing for divorce.
During the premiere of his series “The Road” on Sunday, where 12 up-and-coming musicians compete to open for Urban on his U.S. tour, he performed “Straight Line,” a track from his recent album, “High.”
Reflecting on the song’s meaning in February 2024, Urban shared with his Instagram followers that he is seeking to break free from a routine that feels like it’s draining his spirit.
He noted, “Probably relationships, work, creativity, myself…whatever it is!!” and emphasized the message of wanting to feel rejuvenated and escape a depressive state.
Urban explained that “Straight Line” was chosen as the first track on the album for several reasons, particularly because it embodies the overall energy and spirit of the album.
He told fans, “We’re going to explore a lot of themes, emotions, and vibes on this album, but there’s a very human spirit running through it all.”
At another moment in the show, Urban admitted to feeling “lonely and miserable,” recognizing the challenges of touring while grappling with personal issues.
In late September, news surfaced about the end of his 19-year marriage with Kidman.
A source mentioned that sometimes relationships simply run their course, and at that time, Kidman was reportedly striving to keep things intact.
Kidman, who shares two daughters, Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14, with Urban, filed for divorce the following day.
Rumors later circulated regarding Urban’s possible romantic involvement with guitarist Maggie Boe, although these claims remain unverified.
