Keith Urban removes wedding ring for first performance after news of Nicole Kidman divorce

Keith Urban Moves On Following Split with Nicole Kidman

Keith Urban seems to have moved on, having ditched a song inspired by Nicole Kidman, along with her wedding ring. This comes as Kidman returns to the stage for the first time after filing for divorce, ending their nearly 20-year marriage.

On Thursday, Urban performed at a large venue in Hershey, Pennsylvania, marking his first show since the news of their split made waves.

Before taking the stage, the country singer arrived via private jet, ready for the next stop on his “High and Alive World Tour.”

During the concert, Urban was notably without his wedding ring. Still, he shared a slideshow featuring photos of Kidman and their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, on screen.

He performed with his usual band, but there’s been a significant change: Urban removed the 2017 song “The Fighter” from his setlist, despite having sung it on numerous occasions throughout the tour.

Interestingly, just days before Kidman filed for divorce, Urban had performed “The Fighter,” a romantic tune about her, during a live set. The song features Carrie Underwood and draws from his relationship with Kidman. Recently, Urban altered the lyrics to mention his “utility player,” Maggie Beau, instead of Kidman.

While the original lyrics say, “When they try to reach you, baby I’ll be a fighter,” Urban instead sang, “When they get to you, Maggie will become your guitar player.” A video clip from this performance has been circulating online, with Beau sharing her thoughts shortly after Urban’s rendition.

News broke on Monday about the split between Urban and Kidman, who starred in “Babygirl,” after nearly two decades of marriage.

Sources indicated that the former couple had been living apart since early summer. It seems that while Kidman sought to salvage their relationship, Urban’s decision to move out to Nashville highlighted their differences.

Although they had been seen together at events, including the FIFA Club World Cup in June, it seems their relationship had been strained for some time.

Urban, who has been busy with tour dates all summer, is set to have shows lined up until mid-October, with future performances planned in the Bahamas and the UK come early 2026.
