Kel Mitchell’s Emotional Moment

Actor Kel Mitchell, widely recognized from the Nickelodeon show “Kenan & Kel,” recently celebrated his daughter’s baptism on her eighth birthday, expressing his overwhelming joy through tears. In an Instagram post, he shared, “This weekend you gave me the greatest gift. I cried tears of joy as I saw you being baptized. The moment I will never forget.”

A video clip, shared by his wife Asia Lee Mitchell, shows the two together in the baptism pool alongside Rev. Garry Zeygler from the Spirit Food Center in Los Angeles. When asked if she had made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, the young girl eagerly responded with a “yes.”

Rev. Zeygler stated, “Based on your profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we will now baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus.” Asia later reflected on her daughter’s special day, noting the mix of nerves and excitement, emphasizing how proud she was of her for overcoming her fears. She remarked, “She is God’s own.”

Asia expressed gratitude for her daughter’s willingness to explore her faith freely, sharing her hopes for her to cherish this day always. This baptism marks a significant personal milestone for the family, especially since it has been nearly ten years since Mitchell openly discussed his own spiritual journey.

Reflecting on his life’s challenges, which included struggles with addiction and loss, Mitchell conveyed that during those tough times, he ultimately realized the importance of faith. He stated, “I knew that if I found clarity with Christ, everything would go well.” Since then, he has embraced his role as a youth pastor at Spirit Food Center since 2019, feeling called to guide others.

In 2022, Mitchell also released his book, Blessed Mode, aimed at helping others through his story and experiences.
