Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) predicted Tuesday that former President Trump’s numerous legal challenges could be decided before the November election.

“Well, listen, I think most voters probably feel the same way I do,” he told Collins. “So we are a country built on laws and a constitution, and it’s up to us as elected leaders to embody that in many ways. Let’s see where it takes place. I think they’ll probably be sentenced before the election.”
Trump is facing four separate criminal charges during his third campaign for the White House. He had argued that the president should be granted immunity in the 2020 federal election interference case, but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit rejected Trump’s argument earlier this month.
Although a three-judge panel ruled against the former president, he is not immune from criminal prosecution as a former executive. He has since appealed the commission’s decision, asking the Supreme Court to stay the federal election interference case in which he is charged with four counts stemming from an alleged attempt to overturn the election. .
“Well, listen, I don’t think anyone, Democrats, Republicans, independents, me or anyone else, is above the law. That’s my personal opinion,” President Trump’s immunity claim. Asked what he thought about it, Kemp told Collins:
President Trump also faces 13 charges in a separate 2020 election interference case in Fulton County, Georgia, including making false statements, impersonating a public official, conspiracy and extortion.
