Kris Jenner Highlights Family Dynamics in Season 7 of ‘Kardashian Family’
Kris Jenner is really pouring her energy into Season 7 of the Kardashian Family. In the recent premiere, not only did she have her son, Rob Kardashian, appear on screen for the first time in almost ten years, but she also welcomed her ex, Caitlyn Jenner, for a family dinner—an unexpected move given their strained relationship.
In Episode 2, titled “She Hated Me So Much,” Kris reaches out to Caitlyn to join the family for a farewell gathering at her El Dorado Meadow home.
Prior to dinner, Kris shared with the cameras, “I called Caitlyn about an hour ago and asked, ‘What are you up to?’ She mentioned, ‘I’m just having dinner and watching Fox News.’ So, I invited her to come say goodbye to El Dorado Meadow. Surprisingly, she was on board and said, ‘I’m on my way.’”
Kris and Caitlyn, who have two daughters—Kendall, 29, and Kylie, 28—haven’t been close since their divorce in 2015. It was a bit of a shock for the kids when Caitlyn arrived for dinner, marking her first appearance on the series since Keeping Up with the Kardashians ended in 2021.
Kendall reflected on the situation, saying, “Given my mom and dad’s history, I never thought he’d show up. It’s not like it’s a bad thing; it just feels distant.” She pointed out that Caitlyn had previously created tension, especially after her coming out as transgender and how it was portrayed in an earlier article. “It’s nice that my mom felt it was a good idea to invite her, rather than us having to bring it up.”
In her confessional, Kendall shared more about her relationship with Caitlyn. Interestingly, Caitlyn had expressed earlier that she wouldn’t leave her Malibu home even if wildfires threatened. Kendall also mentioned her father’s views on political matters, noting that Caitlyn has publicly supported certain controversial positions concerning trans women in sports.
“I have to find a way to compartmentalize my relationship with her,” Kendall explained. “I care about her deeply, and we generally get along. But we have different opinions that can be frustrating sometimes.”
“Still, I always want her to feel included,” she added. “I know she doesn’t have much outside her family, and I think she sometimes feels isolated. It’s important to me that she’s not unhappy—especially considering how much we all care about her.”
Khloé Kardashian mentioned it was “great” that their mom set aside past grievances and included Caitlyn to reminisce about their shared history in the family home. Kim Kardashian also praised Caitlyn for her influence on her life, sharing that she talks to Caitlyn frequently and even sent her a thoughtful birthday card.
The new episodes of Kardashian Family are released every Thursday on Hulu.
