Kenny Law, ‘Moonshiners’ star, dead at 68

“Moonshiner” star Kenny Roe has died. He was 68 years old.

The show's official Facebook account shared the news on Thursday.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Kenny Roe. He has been a valued member of our moonshine community since Season 8.

The cause of death has not been made public.

Law was a consistent member of the Discovery Channel series “Moonshiners,” which followed a number of people making their own moonshine in the Appalachian region of the United States.

The show debuted in 2011 and ran for 14 seasons.

Law had his own distillery, Rose's Choice Distillery, in Virginia, which he operated with his cousin Henry Law. According to Distillery websiteThe Law family has been making whiskey for over 60 years.

According to Lowe's Biography on the “Moonshiners” Page On the Discovery Channel, Law “continued to create and run Shine with his cousin Henry, under the guidance of his uncle, world-famous bootlegger Amos Law.”

“Henry and Kenny have had an antipathy for each other for as long as they can remember. When prosecutors give Kenny the choice of blaming his moonshine buddies or going to prison, Kenny follows his cousin Henry's path. , adhered to a code of silence and chose justice,” the biography concludes, “and was imprisoned for years in federal prison.”
