A Louisville, Kentucky, resident was arrested Tuesday in connection with the fentanyl poisoning death of 1-year-old WLKY. reported.
Saniyah Frazier, 19, is suspected of leaving pills containing fentanyl in a place where a child could access them in August, according to court records.
Frazier found the child unresponsive and called emergency responders. The baby was taken to Norton Women's and Children's Hospital, where she died.
Frazier told law enforcement he had five pills in his bag before the incident, but when he checked again, only one pill was left, according to the report.
The coroner found that the baby died of acute fentanyl intoxication. The pills Frazier allegedly had in his wallet tested positive for fentanyl. Acetyl fentanyl, fluorofentanyl, according to court records.
Authorities have not disclosed Frazier's relationship to the child.
She was arrested by Louisville Metro Police and charged with second-degree manslaughter.
