Kentucky: Body Found Believed To Be Suspect On The Run Following I-75 Shooting

Kentucky State Police said a body recently found in woods near Interstate 75 is believed to be that of the suspect in the shooting, Joseph A. Couch.

The update came after a couple near Exit 49 spotted what appeared to be a body lying in the woods while livestreaming. YouTube channel: Hatfield McCoy Museum Adventures.

“His condition is worsening!” a man can be heard saying on video as he witnesses the discovery.

Back to September 7NumberThe suspect opened fire near Interstate 75 in Laurel County, wounding five people and causing a 12-vehicle crash.

According to the arrest warrant obtained, CBS News Last week, the suspect sent a text message less than 30 minutes before the shooting in which he said he planned to “kill a lot of people.”

The cause of death has not yet been released and an autopsy is expected to be conducted soon.

The discovery of the bodies came a day after Gov. Andy Beshear (D-Ky.) and Kentucky law enforcement leaders announced they were coordinating the redeployment of some resources involved in the search back to the area.

Police plan to hold a press conference soon to release more information.
