The search resumed early Sunday in southeastern Kentucky as police searched for a suspect in a shooting near Interstate 75 that left seven people injured in a shooting and car crash, authorities said.
According to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened around 6 p.m. Saturday near Exit 49, and deputies are searching the area along the highway on foot and using drones.
Authorities named Joseph A. Couch, 32, as a suspect in the shooting and warned the public that he is armed and dangerous.
Deputy Sheriff Gilbert Atcharo, a spokesman for the sheriff's office, told reporters that authorities “have not determined with any certainty that this individual was the shooter.”
