Kentucky judge fatally shot in his office last year now facing allegations of being part of a sex ring

Accusations Surface Against Slain Kentucky Judge

A Kentucky judge, who was shot in his own chambers last year, is now facing allegations of involvement in a sex ring. This comes after the tragic murder of 54-year-old Letcher County District Judge Kevin R. Mullins.

Reports state that Mullins was killed by a long-time associate from the sheriff’s department. Surveillance footage purportedly shows former Letcher County Sheriff Sean “Mickey” Stines, 43, walking into the judge’s office and firing several shots.

Stines turned himself in after the incident and resigned shortly thereafter. He has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and is currently being held without bail.

It’s worth noting that Stines and Mullins had been friends for many years, even sharing a lunch together just hours before the shooting.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Matt Gayhart was asked about the potential link between a “sexual scandal” and the judge’s murder. He stated, “Absolutely. We’re not excluding anything as a possible motivation.”

In December, it was revealed that Mullins might be connected to a scandal just a week after Stines pleaded guilty to his murder. Accusations by a victim, Sabrina Adkins, claimed that former Deputy Sheriff Ben Fields coerced her into providing sexual favors in the judge’s office in exchange for staying out of jail.

Fields has entered a guilty plea to multiple charges including rape and tampering with evidence, resulting in a six-month prison sentence and probation thereafter.

Adkins’ allegations extend to Judge Mullins, suggesting his involvement in a prolonged sextortion scheme. “It looks like they’re running through a brothel from that court,” commented Adkins’ lawyer Ned Pillersdorf.

Recently, new claims surfaced, with another suspect, Tia Adams, indicating that Mullins introduced her to illicit activities to keep them quiet. Adams mentioned, “We would have sex parties and shows.” She expressed her fear of rejecting Mullins’ requests, stating that those involved would feel degraded and controlled.

Adams also conveyed that despite the townspeople’s awareness of the situation, those involved were advised to maintain silence about the alleged occurrences.

Sarah Davis, a former staff member at Letcher County Jail, corroborated that she had heard unsavory stories, though she hadn’t witnessed any firsthand. “Most people in the county know,” Davis remarked. She recounted an invitation to a party from Mullins, which she declined, asserting, “I was raised better than that.”
