Kidnapping Suspect Arrested Amid Ongoing Search for Missing Woman
A man accused of a violent attack earlier this year has been arrested again, this time related to another kidnapping case involving a 23-year-old woman who has been missing for 12 days in Philadelphia.
Keon King, who is 21, was previously taken into custody for allegedly throwing a woman into a car and trying to strangle her. Initially reported by FOX29, those charges were dropped in May when the accuser stopped showing up for court. Recently, however, King has come under scrutiny again with the disappearance of Kadda Scott, last seen on October 4.
Police have noted that King’s actions reflect a troubling “pattern of behavior,” leading to new charges in both cases.
The search for Scott continues, as she was last seen leaving the nursing home where she worked. Investigators are piecing together her last movements, including her recent contact with King, although the details of their relationship remain unclear, according to PPD Deputy Chief Frank Vanois.
Her car, a gray 1999 Toyota Camry, was located in the East Falls area of northwest Philadelphia, and it’s believed King attempted to dispose of it. Additionally, her bank card and cellphone case were discovered at an abandoned school in Germantown after police utilized a drone and K9 unit during the search.
The homicide unit is leading the investigation, a decision made due to their expertise, as noted by Deputy Chief John Stanford.
King is now facing charges for kidnapping Scott, along with recklessly endangering another individual and misusing a communication facility.
He has also been re-indicted in connection to the earlier case involving the other woman. Authorities mentioned that King currently has two outstanding kidnapping cases that will be addressed in preliminary hearings shortly, according to Assistant District Attorney Ashley Tocilowski.
Kadda Scott’s family has created a GoFundMe page to help incentivize credible information that could lead to her whereabouts. Her father, Kevin Scott, expressed his determination to search the area for any clues that might help bring her home.
“Even the smallest piece of information can be vital,” he said, urging anyone with tips to contact the police.
