Kermit Frog – the world's most famous and distinct amphibian – is set to give a speech starting at the University of Maryland this spring.
The “Rainbow Connection” singer will be offering advice on graduating from Terps on May 21, honoring his late “The Muppets” creator Jim Henson, a university alumnus.
The university described Kermit as an environmental advocate, bestselling author, international superstar and environmentalist. Promotional video announcing famous bookings.
“From a humble beginning he has become one of the world's most beloved and enduring cultural icons, all while sharing the message of optimism,” another statement read. CNN reported.
“We are excited that our graduates and their families will experience the world-famous frog optimism and insights at such a meaningful time in their lives.” In a statement.
“Our pride for Jim Henson is unconventional. It is an honor to welcome Kermit the Frog to campus 65 years after Henson graduated from the University of Maryland. We are truly grateful to Muppet Studios, Disney and their creative team for making this possible,” Pines added.
The May ceremony is not the first Peabody Award recipient to address his graduation class.
