Kesha cancels concert in Texas over safety worries during flash floods

Kesha has canceled her concert in Texas, citing safety concerns as the region deals with severe flash floods and rising fatalities. She expressed her disappointment, saying, “Thank you for supporting independent artists. I was really looking forward to tonight, and I want to celebrate with you, but your safety is what’s most important right now.” In her message, she conveyed her heartfelt sympathy for those affected by the weather, apologizing for the cancellation. “I’ll be back tomorrow to perform for you,” she assured her fans, stressing that all tickets will be honored.

As of now, the flash floods in Texas have claimed at least 109 lives, with many more still unaccounted for. The flooding started in the early hours of July 4th, devastating communities and prompting widespread concern. Several celebrities, including Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner, have rallied to support those impacted by the disaster.

McConaughey shared a poignant message on Instagram, remarking on the tragic loss of life and urging everyone to lend a helping hand. “If possible, assist in any way you can. Texans are incredibly resilient, and right now, they really need each other’s support.”

Garner, a Houston native, expressed her proximity to the devastation, saying, “Texas. God, I’m nearby.” Meanwhile, Hilary Duff, also from Texas, described her sorrow over the situation, stating that each bad report weighs heavily on her heart.
“I’m praying for any miracle, hoping we can find survivors amidst this ongoing tragedy,” she noted.

Additionally, Christy Carlson Romano mentioned considering sending her daughter to Camp Mystic this summer, only to realize that many parents are still uncertain about their children’s whereabouts due to the flooding. The emotional weight of the situation is palpable, highlighting the far-reaching effects of this disaster on families and communities.
