Kevin Durant is not interested in joining the Timberwolves as trade talks intensify.

Kevin Durant isn’t considering a move to Minnesota.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the future Hall of Famer has “no desire” to join the Timberwolves, expressing a preference for potential trades involving the Heat, Spurs, or Rockets instead.

It seems smart for teams, especially Minnesota, to take Durant’s personal wishes into account when thinking about trading for a 36-year-old superstar.

If the Timberwolves decide to gamble and trade for Durant, they might find themselves with a short-term rental of just 15 All-Stars.

Charania noted that the Suns are actively discussing Durant’s future with his agent and business partner, Rich Kleiman, as they seek a suitable destination for the former MVP.

In his 16th NBA season last year, Durant managed to average 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists.

While Minnesota offered Durant a chance to collaborate with the young star Anthony Edwards, and potentially a shot at his third NBA ring by reaching the Western Conference Finals, it appears he’s more keen on other opportunities.

The Spurs seem like an appealing fit; with Durant joining an emerging core featuring Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox, it could be interesting.

The Rockets are also on the rise, boasting talented young players like Alperen Şengün and Amen Thompson.

Although the Heat had a rough 37-45 season, they still have promising talents such as Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo, alongside established coach Erik Spoelstra.

On Friday, Charania reported that Durant’s trade could go through “in the coming days.”
