Kevin Federline has alleged that Britney Spears was unfaithful during their relationship, claiming she cheated on him with a backup dancer.
In a preview from his forthcoming memoir, *You Thought You Knew*, obtained by Us Weekly, Federline recounts a night in Amsterdam in 2004. He was with Spears and her Onyx Hotel tour crew, including a dancer named Teresa Espinosa, who had introduced them just a month earlier.
Following their return to the hotel, Spears reportedly told Federline she would be back shortly.
“As time went on, I started wondering what was taking so long,” he reflects. Initially, he thought she was just wrapping up some tour business.
But, concerned, he decided to find out what was happening. He claims that he peeked into a room and saw a startling scene: “There she was, Teresa sitting on the edge of the bed, with Britney standing between her legs. They were clearly about to get intimate. It was authentic flirting.” It appears they noticed him before he retreated back to their hotel room to gather his things.
He wrote, “I just wanted out,” and told Spears he was leaving the country with his girlfriend.
Federline then describes an apology from Spears, in which she insisted it was a mistake and vowed it wouldn’t happen again. He stated he told her he was “not interested in a relationship beyond just us” but ultimately chose to forgive her.
“A few weeks in Europe, navigating an emotional minefield together, laid the foundation for our relationship,” he shares. Despite the rocky start, he reflects on how their experiences changed them and deepened his feelings for her. He was, in fact, in love.
Federline and Spears, both now 43, first met in April 2004, just ahead of her Amsterdam performance on May 24. They married in September of that year and welcomed two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, in September 2005 and 2006, respectively. Their marriage ended just two months after the birth of their second child, with Spears citing irreconcilable differences. This led to a complicated relationship, with their sons becoming estranged from their mother.
Federline plans to share more about his two-year marriage to Spears in his memoir. In excerpts released before the book’s October 21 launch, he mentions that their sons have refused to see Spears because they were frightened of their mother. He described unsettling moments, recalling times he would find her silently watching their children while holding a knife.
Federline expresses significant concern about their kids’ wellbeing, fearing something detrimental might occur if no action is taken. He commented on the severity of Spears’s behavior following the end of her conservatorship in 2021, and suggested that it has escalated beyond what fans might realize, mentioning her phone call with ex-Justin Timberlake just before their wedding.
In response to Federline’s claims, a representative for Spears remarked that they are profiting from her life and stressed that her primary concern is the wellbeing of their children. She is currently detailing her own experiences in her memoir.
