Businessman Kevin O’Leary vowed Monday never to invest in New York state again.
Mr. O’Leary, the “Shark Tank” star investor, slammed Judge Arthur Engoron’s ruling against Mr. Trump in the civil fraud trial.Last Friday, Engoron ordered President Trump to pay a $355 million fine. plus Interest – Total Approximately $450 million. The fraud case was brought by New York State Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat. Who campaigned against Trump?.
“Ignoring all the Trump stuff and looking at what happened here, I’m no different than any other investor. I’m shocked by this,” O’Leary said on Fox Business. Ta. “I cannot understand or understand this decision at all. There is no basis for it.”
O’Leary said the ruling shows what he and many other businessmen already believed to be true: New York has liberal policies, high taxes and is uncompetitive. It is said that it is a “losing state” because of regulations.
“I would never invest in New York now,” he promised.
“Respectable people in New York should ask themselves, ‘Why are we such a losing state? How do we attract business?’ “It’s not just existing businesses that are fleeing to Texas and Florida. What about all the new funding they’re talking about? $4 billion data centers and all that?” O’Leary continued. “There’s no chance of putting it in New York. Zero chance. Absolutely not!”
O’Leary cited Tennessee, Oklahoma, West Virginia and North Dakota as “winner states” for their business-friendly policies. But New York has just proven itself to be a “huge loser state,” he argued.

Finally, Mr. O’Leary responded to Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul’s attempt to reassure businesses and real estate developers, who of course did not mention Mr. Trump. tell them that “There’s nothing to worry about.”
Ultimately, O’Leary explained, New York State shot itself in the foot, and state officials have no one to blame but themselves.
“We’re very worried. All investors are worried. Because where are the victims? Who lost their money? This is an arbitrary decision made by a judge.” said Mr O’Leary. “What does this say about the New York judicial system? They’re not going to question this judge? What is this? $355 million in fines plus 9% interest was imposed and there were no victims?”
“I’m sorry. Her words fall on deaf ears. There’s nothing she can say to justify this decision,” he continued. “Forget about Trump. This is not a Trump situation. This is a New York problem.”
