Kevin Porter Jr. Ties the Knot
Kevin Porter Jr. has taken a big step—he’s officially married. The Bucks guard recently shared the news that he wed Tee Janay, posting the announcement on Instagram just a day ago.
In his post, which featured a series of photos from their wedding, Porter, 26, expressed his joy with the caption “WE/DO Mrs. Porter.” The images showed the couple dressed in striking black outfits, with Porter looking sharp in a suit while his bride wore an elegant black wedding dress and carried a bouquet of purple flowers.
Some photos captured the newlyweds gazing at fireworks, which added a celebratory touch to their reception, and others showed them dancing joyfully among family and friends.
The Bucks, the team Porter has been with for two seasons now, congratulated him in a post on social media.
While it’s not clear exactly when the wedding happened, a bridal designer named Inna Elsie shared a post five days earlier that highlighted Tee Janay wearing one of her bridal robes, suggesting preparations were underway.
As for his career, Porter is gearing up for his third season in Milwaukee after opting into his $5.39 million player contract. Last season, injuries cut his play short in March; nevertheless, he made quite an impact with averages of 17.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 7.4 assists across the 38 games he managed to play.
This upcoming season will be a bit different for Porter, particularly since he won’t have Giannis Antetokounmpo, the star player who was traded to the Heat in July. It’s an adjustment, and one that could be crucial as he looks to carry the team forward during this transitional phase.
Porter has a six-year history in the NBA, having started with the Cavaliers and then playing for the Rockets and Clippers before joining the Bucks.
In a recent turn of events, Porter faced some legal issues. He was arrested in New York on September 11, 2023, on charges involving his former girlfriend, Kysre Gondrezick. Though Gondrezick later stated that her injuries didn’t substantiate the charges, Porter ultimately accepted a plea deal involving reduced charges. It’s a complicated situation that adds another layer to his off-court narrative.
