Kevin Stitt’s Oklahoma chooses illegal aliens over citizens

Over 10 million intruders have been apprehended at the border and the Biden Administration has released the vast majority of them back into our communities. In response, California has welcomed the intruders and recently granted them entry. $150,000 exemption for first-time home buyersThis will allow them to compete in an already heated housing market.

You'd expect a different approach in a state like Oklahoma, where not a single county has voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since 2000. But that's not the case in Kevin Stitt's Oklahoma.

At a time when legal and illegal immigration are at record highs, why is Governor Stitt focused on allowing more foreigners into the state rather than enforcing the laws against illegal immigration?

The Oklahoma Legislature took the issue of illegal immigration seriously when it passed the bill. House Bill 4156 A bill passed in Oklahoma earlier this year. If enacted, Oklahoma would be the first state in the nation to make it a crime to reside in a country without legal permission. The crime of “unlawful occupation” would be a misdemeanor for first-time offenders, punishable by up to one year in prison and a $500 fine. Repeat offenders would be upgraded to a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison and a $1,000 fine. Offenders would be required to leave the state within 72 hours of release and would be barred from re-entering the state.

Just before the law went into effect on July 1, U.S. District Judge Bernard Jones said: President Trump's appointees, A preliminary injunction was issued As the law made its way to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, Gov. Kevin Stitt, rather than defending the law, immediately appointed a task force to explore ways to do the opposite. Attract Prohibit illegal immigrants from entering the country by providing them with work permits and state-recognized legal documents.

Last week, Stitt's 11-member task force Announced It recommends states allow more illegal immigrants in. The task force's messaging purposefully avoids acknowledging these people's illegal presence, with task force members referring to them as “immigrants” or “newcomers.” Tricia Everest, Secretary of Public Safety and chair of the task force, said: said“The majority of foreigners are actually highly educated.”

While some legal immigrants are highly educated, the same criteria is not true for most illegal immigrants. No joke: a new report finds that illegal immigration is costing taxpayers money. $150 billion per yearNot to mention the associated problems of gang violence, criminal vagrancy, drugs and cartel culture.

One of the task force's recommendations is the creation of an “Office of New Oklahomans,” which would aim to increase work permits and visas for foreign nationals who want to move to Oklahoma or who already live here, as well as “grant driver's licenses to qualified foreign nationals.”

Notably, the task force never uses the word “illegal.” Citizens with legal documents already have federally issued visas and work permits and can obtain driver's licenses in Oklahoma and other states. The task force's real goal, hidden behind vague language, is to provide legal documentation to people who even the Biden administration has refused to acknowledge. Despite a half-century of records on legal and illegal immigration, the task force seems to think there are still not enough guest workers.

“If foreigners come, train at our universities, and become experts in the fields we need, if we need nurses or anything like that, we don't have enough visas in the country for them to actually work here,” Everest told reporters, a point he echoed himself. X's post from last week.

Is it crazy to think that there are too many Americans working in nursing and engineering, and not enough foreign workers? Kaiser Family Foundation analysis The survey found that the percentage of hospitals reporting hiring foreign nurses doubled between 2010 and 2022, with “an increasing percentage of hospitals reporting an increase in the percentage of hospitals hiring foreign-educated nurses to fill vacancies over time.” In many parts of the country, native-born people are a minority in the health care workforce, particularly among nurses and pharmacists.

The question is, at a time when legal and illegal immigration is coming in record numbers, why is Governor Stitt focused on attracting more foreigners to the state instead of enforcing the laws against illegal immigration? Governor Stitt claims to be against issuing driver's licenses to illegal immigrants, so why should his task force work to promote the issuance of licenses to “qualified aliens” rather than illegals?

In the past, Stitt made a bizarre claim. They argue that giving licenses to people who are more likely to drink and drive will lower insurance premiums. Electric car scam, this is caused a sharp rise In the cost of car insurance.

Just as Stitt has pushed for “criminal justice reform,” he seems determined to turn Oklahoma into California, as the state grapples with issues involving Chinese immigrant marijuana farmers. Organized crimeCombined with the decriminalization of theft under a certain amount, this led to a surge in criminal vagrancy in what was once a quintessential corner of the American heartland.

A scathing audit released by State Auditor Cindy Byrd earlier this year found that the Stitt administration misappropriated COVID funds by misappropriating funds intended to resettle Afghan refugees in the state through the Community Foundation of Oklahoma. “The CFO directed $6.5 million to relocate refugees from Afghanistan to Oklahoma,” Byrd said. Observed“This is an expense that is not allowed under this grant. There were other grants available in Oklahoma for this type of service.”

It's amazing that no one before Stitt came up with this brilliant economic plan: import people from the most backward Third World countries to do the skilled trades, because, of course, Oklahoma doesn't know how to clean up after itself, without the help of some great minds from Kabul and Kandahar who missed out on the Enlightenment.

The Oklahoma fiasco shows that despite the border crisis and outward criticism of Biden's immigration policies by Republican leaders, Republican leaders have not changed course. Deep down, they continue to support open borders and oppose effective measures to reduce the incentives for illegal immigration. They are focused on preserving the status quo rather than putting their own people first.
