Key aides to North Carolina gubernatorial candidate's campaign have “resigned from their positions,” according to a statement from the campaign of North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson (Republican).

“I thank my team members for their efforts in making the difficult decision to step back from the campaign trail and wish them the best in their future endeavors,” Robinson said in a statement. “I look forward to announcing new roles for our staff in the coming days.”
CNN reported that Robinson had posted numerous inflammatory comments on a pornography message board more than 10 years ago, including calling himself a “black Nazi.”
Robinson's Democratic opponent in the North Carolina gubernatorial race, state Attorney General Josh Stein (D), said in an interview Sunday that candidates should be held accountable for their continued support of Robinson.
“Robinson is there because Donald Trump has been promoting him all this time. The candidates in North Carolina have to take responsibility for supporting Mark Robinson and being involved in his entire campaign,” Stein said on CNN's “State of the Union” when asked how she felt about Robinson not attending former President Trump's rally in North Carolina the previous day.
“They've supported him and now people want to get away from him, but they [him]”Mark Robinson would not exist without the support of Donald Trump,” Stein continued.
