The attractive surgeon’s wife was allegedly at a sex and drug party before the murder of technology founder Bob Lee, and police were uncooperative, according to the San Francisco District Attorney.
Hazar Eliasnia, the sister of Nima Momeni, 38, who has been charged with murdering the founder of Cash App, has dismissed investigators’ attempts to speak in the wake of Lee’s death on April 4. He refused, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins told reporters after Momeni was detained in jail after being denied bail on Thursday.according to San Francisco Chronicle.
Prosecutors say Eliasnia, 37, was with Lee on the day he died and texted Lee around the same time he was stabbed on the streets of San Francisco and bled. Police do not believe she was involved in his murder.
But Momeni was charged with stabbing Lee, 43, whom he had never met, hours after angrily confronting his sister’s drug allegations and “inappropriate” behavior. It remains a key component of the incident, police said.
According to friends, the brothers are incredibly close. Eliasnia sought the assistance of his legal team following Lee’s death, but did not respond to the Post’s request for comment on Friday.
Momeni’s lawyer, Paula Canney, claimed that Eliasnia had not been contacted by the police until his brother was arrested and was willing to “ask for a lawyer to be present” if questioned.
Lee, who recently separated from his wife, has become part of the city’s underground party scene, known to the wealthy as “The Lifestyle,” a source told The Wall Street Journal. It is said that he was taken in.
He is said to have frequented underground sex and drug parties, and sources say he often slept with Eliasnia.
After Lee’s death, an autopsy found ketamine and cocaine in his body.
Eliasnia’s husband, Dino, who accompanied Momeni on a previous arraignment, has not been seen since reports that Lee was intimate with his wife.
Lee’s ex-wife Krista, who has defended him amid allegations of his promiscuous sex and drug-filled lifestyle, also appeared in court on Thursday.
Canney claimed at the hearing that police relied on grainy security camera footage to identify Momeni’s stabbing. She also said Lee’s stabbing was a “combination of accident and self-defense,” but the judge chose not to grant Momeni bail.
“There was no planning or deliberation,” Paula Canney told reporters after the hearing.
Police documents show that on the night of Lee’s death, CCTV footage showed Lee and Momeni taking an elevator past 2 a.m. down to the lobby of Eliasnia’s apartment building and entering Momeni’s white BMW. The situation was reflected.
The video then shows the two inside the BMW as they arrive at a “dark and secluded area” on Main Street near where Lee was later found bloody.
Prosecutors allege that both men got out of the car and Momeni stabbed Lee and walked away.
When Ms. Lee called 911 shortly after being stabbed on April 4, Ms. Lee was “bleeding profusely,” at which point the dispatcher said, “A man shouted ‘help’ and said, ‘Somebody’s trying to get me. I stabbed him,’ and advised him that he was bleeding.”
Momeni was arrested over a week later.
