Kianna Underwood’s co-star from Nickelodeon urgently sought her assistance.

A castmate from Kiana Underwood’s time on “All That” attempted to assist the former Nickelodeon star before her tragic death in a hit-and-run incident in Brooklyn. Authorities have now located the vehicle involved in the accident, according to information revealed on Monday.

Angelique Bates shared a heartfelt Instagram video in November 2023. In it, Underwood, known for her role in the final season of the children’s comedy show during the early ’80s, communicated to Bates that she was homeless.

Bates expressed her shock, saying, “I had no idea she was homeless in New York. I really don’t grasp why this isn’t talked about more.” As an original cast member alongside current “Saturday Night Live” star Kenan Thompson, she called on others from the show and Nickelodeon higher-ups to devise a plan to support Underwood.

Underwood, affectionately referred to as one of the younger cast members, appeared in several episodes of “All That,” concluding her appearances in 2005.

Tragically, the 33-year-old continued to find herself in difficult circumstances, often seen in the Brownsville area. Her life came to a tragic end on January 16 when she was struck by two hit-and-run drivers, who remain unidentified.

Reports indicate that the first driver, operating a Ford SUV, ran a red light at Pitkin Boulevard and Mother Gaston Boulevard, hitting Underwood while she was in a crosswalk. The SUV swerved to avoid a stopped vehicle but crashed into her instead.

Witnesses say Underwood’s body was thrown across the road after the collision. The driver of the Ford stopped briefly but then fled the scene, only for Underwood to be hit again by a black and gray sedan, which dragged her several hundred feet.

While the NYPD has located and seized the Ford SUV, they are still working to identify its driver and gather more evidence related to the incident.

This heartbreaking event led to widespread condolences for Underwood, particularly from Bates. She shared her pain following Underwood’s passing, stating, “I can’t express how much this hurts… It’s gut-wrenching… So many people wanted to have babies.”
