Kid Cudi Testifies in Diddy’s Trial

During a seven-week trial involving rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mestudi, took the stand to support his ex-girlfriend, Kathy Ventura. He revealed on May 22 that Diddy allegedly broke into his home and burnt a car using Molotov cocktails while Kudi was on a date with Ventura.

Kudi shared that he felt a sense of disconnect while he was present in the courtroom, reflecting on how he would have preferred being anywhere else. He seemed to struggle with his emotions, expressing, “I hated every minute of it. Like, I didn’t want to do that.”

Despite his reluctance to testify, Kudi emphasized his desire to be there for Ventura. He noted, “I’m here to support Kathy. Kathy is my friend, you know, and I love her, and I want to see her go well.” He found some peace in being there for her, expressing joy for her new marriage and child.

During his testimony, Kudi recounted an encounter with Diddy following the alleged arson. He mentioned that after the car incident, he reached out because he felt the situation needed to be addressed. When asked why he chose to contact Diddy, he replied, “Because I knew he had something to do with it.”

It’s important to note that Diddy has not been charged with the alleged break-in or car burning. He was found not guilty of sex trafficking and assault but is facing sentencing in October for related charges involving transportation for prostitution.
