All-American Halftime Show Set to Compete with Super Bowl LX
Turning Point USA has revealed its lineup for the upcoming All-American Halftime Show, which aims to compete with the NFL’s Super Bowl LX halftime performance by Bad Bunny. The show is scheduled to stream at approximately 8 p.m. EST on February 8th, featuring artists like Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett.
Kid Rock commented on the competition, likening the event to “David and Goliath.” He expressed that, while going up against a major football event and a recognized global artist seems daunting, it’s certainly not impossible.
The NFL decision to choose Puerto Rican singer Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio—known as Bad Bunny—as the halftime headliner faced backlash from some conservative fans after the announcement in September. In response, these individuals and commentators have called for a boycott during the Seahawks-Patriots game.
To counter this sentiment, Turning Point USA, headed by Charlie Kirk, has organized its own halftime show themed around faith, family, and freedom. A spokesperson for TPUSA shared that the All-American Halftime Show offers an inclusive opportunity, free of ideological agendas, promoting celebration of these values.
Bad Bunny has drawn criticism from some segments of the football fandom in the lead-up to his performance. Former President Donald Trump described the NFL’s choice as “absolutely ridiculous,” adding that he found it puzzling.
Sources close to Bad Bunny revealed that he is expected to wear a dress during his performance, paying tribute to Puerto Rican queer icons and drag culture, which might stir further discussion around his artistic choices.
Turning Point’s All-American Halftime Show will be available for viewing on February 8th through One America News.
