Kid Rock to Headline Alternative Super Bowl Halftime Show
Turning Point USA has revealed that Kid Rock will be the main act for its alternate Super Bowl halftime show. This comes after some conservatives expressed discontent over Bad Bunny being named the official halftime performer by the NFL.
In a social media post, Kid Rock mocked the Puerto Rican trap and reggaeton artist, saying, “Did you say he was having a dance party and wearing a dress and singing in Spanish? That’s cool. We’re going to play great songs for people who love America.” The post was in support of TPUSA’s “All American Halftime Show,” initiated by the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was killed last September.
Criticism from conservatives regarding the NFL’s choice of Bad Bunny was sparked by his previous comments about the Trump administration and ICE, which he addressed during his Grammy acceptance speech after winning three awards, including Album of the Year.
Turning Point USA stated that their alternative halftime show would focus on themes of faith, freedom, and family, featuring country artists like Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett. A spokesperson from the organization mentioned, “The All-American Halftime Show is an opportunity for all Americans to enjoy a halftime show for no other purpose than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom.” He expressed excitement about the anticipated performance, predicting that millions would tune in.
Previously, Bad Bunny highlighted his selection as the official halftime act as a significant cultural accomplishment, noting, “This is for my people, my culture, and our history.” Kid Rock, who is known for his support of President Trump, compared the alternative show to a “David and Goliath” scenario, pondering whether they could stand against the NFL and its global pop superstar image.
TPUSA has announced plans to stream their alternative halftime show across social media and conservative broadcast platforms like Real America’s Voice and OAN.
Bad Bunny’s official performance will take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA, broadcast live on NBC on February 8, 2026. It will also be available through streaming services including Peacock and other live TV options.
