Kardashian Robbery: Witness Reflects on Night of Terror
In a shocking incident, an armed robber forced Kim Kardashian to surrender millions in jewels during a brutal nighttime attack. Simone Hallouch, speaking publicly for the first time since the 2016 incident in Paris, shared her harrowing experience, emphasizing the emotional toll the event had on both her and Kardashian.
Hallouch, who was familiar with Kardashian, recounted how she instinctively recognized a terrifying sound that jolted her awake. She described the moment vividly, saying, “I’ve known Kim for years, and when I heard her scream—it was different, something I’d never heard before. It made me panic; I was terrified for my life and my child’s.” During the ordeal, alone in a bathroom, she expressed fears about the danger looming over them.
She became emotional while recounting her fear of never seeing her four-year-old again, highlighting the dread she felt as she wondered what was happening to her friend. The accused gunman left with an estimated $10 million in jewelry, including an 18.9-carat diamond engagement ring valued at around $4 million, which belonged to Kardashian’s then-husband, Kanye West.
In court, Hallouch noted both women experienced significant post-traumatic stress, particularly Kardashian, who had once felt invulnerable. “At that time, she felt free, without fear of being in a hotel room,” Hallouch shared, pointing out that Kardashian sought therapy following the incident.
When discussing Kardashian’s social media presence and whether it might have posed a risk, Hallouch remained firm. “Women displaying their wealth shouldn’t be blamed for crimes against them. I work with many celebrities, and it’s part of the industry,” she stated.
The trial of several suspects, aged between 35 and 78, is ongoing in Paris. Known in the media as “grandpa robbers,” this group is accused of orchestrating the heist during Fashion Week in 2016. While some face charges related to organized robbery, eight individuals deny their involvement.
Kardashian is set to appear in court to confront her attackers, with her lawyers affirming her commitment to facing them “with dignity and courage.”
