Kim Kardashian Takes the Helm for New Netflix Series
Kim Kardashian is stepping into the role of executive producer for a new young adult series on Netflix titled “Calabasas.” This project was announced recently, as reported by various outlets.
The show draws inspiration from Via Breidner’s book, “If I Lived Here, I’d Be Famous by Now: True Stories from Calabasas.”
Chris Van Dusen, who is also known for producing the hit series “Bridgerton,” is the showrunner. He described “Calabasas” as a mix of compelling drama that is not only escapist and provocative but also deeply personal.
He expressed admiration for the entire production team, which includes Kardashian and actress Emma Roberts, calling them “smart, collaborative, and ambitious” partners in the creative process.
Kardashian and Roberts, both familiar to audiences from their roles in “American Horror Story: Delicate,” are excited about this new venture.
Although Kardashian hasn’t made an official comment about the production yet, she did share news of it on her Instagram Story. The series is said to explore the complicated romance surrounding the daughter of a high-profile private school principal.
Interestingly, Kardashian has ties to the Calabasas area, having spent much of her life nearby in Hidden Hills, California.
This announcement coincides with Kardashian temporarily pausing her legal studies. She reportedly has a busy schedule ahead, including producing a Broadway show titled “The Fear of 13.” After rescheduling her bar exam due to her filmmaking commitments, it’s clear she is focused on multiple projects at the moment.
Kardashian previously attempted the California “Baby Bar” four times last year, successfully passing on her fourth try in 2021. However, she faced challenges with the full bar exam in 2025, opting to skip the February test to concentrate on the July attempt.
Her determination is apparent; she’s not one to give up easily on her aspirations.
