Liberal talk show host Jimmy Kimmel recently commended Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) for her criticisms of President Donald Trump and her announcement to leave Congress.
During his opening monologue, Kimmel referenced the musical film “Wicked: For Good,” saying, “People love a story about a witch who turns a new leaf.” He compared this to Greene’s resignation, which attracted applause from the audience. Kimmel quipped, “There will be one less puddle of sweat on the floor mats in the Capitol gymnasium, because Marjorie Taylor Greene, another Trump fanatic, knows that loyalty to Trump only goes one way.”
In the wake of her resignation, Greene has voiced disagreements with Trump on various matters, including the release of the Epstein files. In her resignation video, she stated, “I refuse to be a battered wife. I hope it all goes away and gets better. There are no plans to save the world or a 4D chess game to be played.”
Kimmel remarked, “I have to say this woman is being attacked from all sides right now. Somehow she still had time to decorate the Christmas tree, even on Thanksgiving.” He commented on Greene’s assertion that Congress overlooks ordinary Americans’ needs, indicating her party lacks a healthcare plan, and that the Jeffrey Epstein files are not a hoax, as Trump claims. “To that, I say, ‘Welcome to reality, Marge,'” he added.
Kimmel joked about Greene’s departure, saying, “If you get a chance, feel free to take a look at the science building. So, did you know? Parliament’s loss is Love Island’s gain. I wish her all the best. Marjorie is out, Mandani is in!”
In response to Kimmel’s remarks, a White House press secretary mentioned, “To react to Kimmel’s show, I have to waste time watching it, and like many Americans who choose not to watch it, I have more interesting things to do — like watch paint dry.”
