Kimmel Overlooks Swalwell Controversy — Embattled Democrat Started Governor Campaign on His ABC Program

On Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, host Jimmy Kimmel didn’t bring up former Rep. Eric Swalwell, despite Swalwell’s recent controversies surrounding his gubernatorial campaign.

Kimmel chose to overlook the news of Swalwell suspending his campaign and resigning from Congress in light of sexual assault allegations. Instead, he spent a significant portion of the show criticizing President Donald Trump.

Kimmel addressed numerous controversies involving Trump, including some of his recent remarks about Pope Leo.

However, amidst his critiques of the president, Kimmel completely sidestepped any mention of Swalwell. Swalwell had announced on the same day his resignation and the halting of his campaign for governor, following allegations from several women regarding unwanted advances, which included groping and non-consensual sexual actions.

Back in November, Swalwell appeared on Kimmel’s show to announce his candidacy for the governorship of California.

During that appearance, Kimmel referred to Swalwell as a “fighter,” mentioning that he often engages with the “MAGA army,” and noted the president’s disdain for Swalwell.

Swalwell expressed to Kimmel that California needs “fighters and protectors,” citing his past experiences in various roles where he faced significant partisan challenges. “I’m ready to take this fight home,” Swalwell proclaimed, much to the audience’s enthusiastic approval.

Kimmel isn’t the only one staying silent regarding the unfolding Swalwell situation.

As reported by Breitbart News, several left-wing Hollywood celebrities who had previously supported Swalwell have notably remained quiet since his resignation and the suspension of his campaign.

Notably, leaders from the “Me Too” movement, such as Alyssa Milano and Lady Gaga, have not commented on the allegations against Swalwell since his recent announcements.
