Buckingham Palace announced Friday that King Charles has been hospitalized to undergo treatment for an enlarged prostate.
Charles, 75, was taken to the London Clinic private hospital on Friday, where he will undergo surgery, the BBC reported.
It is unclear at this time how long he will be hospitalized.
The London Clinic, a private hospital, is the same facility where Prince Charles' daughter-in-law, Duchess Kate, was admitted last week for scheduled abdominal surgery.

According to the BBC, the king visited Duchess Kate in hospital on Friday morning ahead of his scheduled treatment.
Buckingham Palace initially announced last week that he would undergo “corrective surgery” for his enlarged prostate.
