King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s Upcoming U.S. Visit
King Charles III and Queen Camilla are set to travel to the United States next month to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence, as announced by Buckingham Palace.
This visit aims to emphasize the deep historical connections and ongoing bilateral relationships between the two nations. While the itinerary details are still pending, they’ll be revealed as the date approaches.
It’s noteworthy that this upcoming trip marks King Charles’ first official visit to the U.S. in his capacity as monarch. Buckingham Palace noted that they accepted an invitation extended by President Donald Trump.
Queen Elizabeth II made four state visits to the U.S. throughout her reign—in 1957, 1976, 1991, and 2007. Meanwhile, Prince Charles has visited the United States 19 times, including a trip with Camilla back in 2005.
Following their time in the U.S., the King will head to Bermuda, making history as the first reigning monarch to visit a British Overseas Territory.
It’s an exciting time for both nations, with historical documents currently being showcased across the country on something called the “Freedom Plane,” leading up to the 250th anniversary celebrations. So, it’s like history in the making, almost poetic in a way.
As for President Trump, he has had two state visits to the U.K.—first in June 2019, where he met Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace, and again in September 2025, when he was welcomed by King Charles III at Windsor Castle. It’s all quite fascinating, really.
