King Charles III Addresses Arrest of Former Prince Andrew
King Charles III has responded following the arrest of former Prince Andrew on allegations of misconduct in public office. He expressed concern over the situation in a statement released on Thursday.
“I am deeply troubled by the news regarding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and the suspicion of misconduct in public office,” the King said. He emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation, stating, “What follows now is a full, fair, and proper process to address this issue in the suitable manner by the appropriate authorities. As I have mentioned before, they have our complete support and cooperation.”
“Let me be clear: the law must take its course,” the statement continued. “While this process is ongoing, I won’t be able to comment further.”
Despite the challenging situation within the family, King Charles reaffirmed his commitment to his duties as monarch.
Former Duke of York was arrested at his home in England on February 19, coinciding with his 66th birthday. This marks a significant moment in modern history as it’s the first time a prominent royal has faced such charges.
Authorities are looking into claims that he may have leaked sensitive information to Jeffrey Epstein while serving as a trade envoy for the UK.
A photo, which later surfaced in connection with the Epstein files, showed the former royal in a compromising position with a woman, drawing widespread attention.
Additionally, Virginia Giuffre has accused him of sexual assault and rape, alleging that Epstein had trafficked her to Mountbatten-Windsor. The former prince has publicly denied all allegations against him.
