King Charles enjoys cheeky get-well card from one of his supporters

Charles III no longer has to wonder whether he received support from the state after announcing his cancer diagnosis earlier this month. The royal family revealed that the monarch had received more than 7,000 letters and cards from around the world.

In a video shared on social media, the king was seen opening dozens of notes, some with cheeky messages written on them. He seemed particularly tickled by the dog card.

I said, “At least you don’t have to wear cones!”

The video included a message expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support and saying, “As His Majesty said, “Such warm thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.”

The message in the video reads: “As you face your own diagnosis and treatment, please know that I am thinking of you and sending you prayers and all good wishes for a speedy recovery.” I wanted to let you know that I’m here,” the message read.

“Keep your chin up, keep your head up, stay positive and don’t get discouraged,” said another. “Trust me, it works, but the most important thing is family.”

The video’s release comes days after Prince Charles met with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. “It’s great to see you looking so well,” Sunak said when he met the King at Buckingham Palace. His Majesty joked, “It was all done by the mirror.”

“We are all rooting for you and the country is rooting for you,” Sunak added.

“I received so many wonderful messages and cards that I was almost brought to tears most of the time,” Charles said. “I hear it’s getting more and more attention.” [and] I am interested in these major and wonderful cancer charities, many of which I have supported over the years. ”

Buckingham Palace announced on February 5 that “other concerns were raised” while the king was in hospital with an enlarged prostate. identified as cancer.

A few days later, the 75-year-old king released his own statement.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the many messages of support and goodwill I have received over the past few days,” he said. “As anyone suffering from cancer knows, kind thoughts like that are the greatest comfort and encouragement.

“As well as hearing how sharing my own diagnosis has helped to promote public understanding and shine a light on the work of all the organizations supporting cancer patients and their families in the UK and around the world. I am heartened by their tireless care and my lifelong admiration for them.”My own personal experience has made that dedication even greater. ”

Buckingham Palace has not disclosed what type of cancer the king is battling.
