King Charles III made his first major public appearance on Sunday morning since announcing his cancer diagnosis and scaling back his royal duties.

The monarch attended the Easter service at Windsor Castle, accompanied by Queen Camilla. He waved to the crowd outside St George’s Chapel and was greeted by the public with a “Happy Easter”.

“And to you,” he answered.

According to People magazine, the king and queen were seated apart from other members of the royal family, following the advice of their medical team to reduce the risk of infection. They also do not attend post-service receptions or host family lunches.
