Princess Eugenie Expecting Third Child
Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are celebrating the news of their growing family. On Monday, they took to social media to share an adorable photo of their two sons during an ultrasound appointment, announcing that they are expecting their third child, due in 2026.
“Baby Brooksbank due in 2026!” she captioned the post.
In an official statement from Buckingham Palace, it was revealed: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce that they are expecting their third child this summer.” The statement continued, mentioning that their two sons, August, 5, and Ernest, 2, are excited about welcoming a new sibling. “His Majesty the King has been informed and is pleased with the news.”
This joyful announcement comes during a time of turmoil for Eugenie’s parents, Sarah Ferguson and former Prince Andrew, as they face significant challenges within the royal family. Last October, King Charles removed Andrew’s royal title amid renewed scrutiny regarding his past connections with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Sarah Ferguson also faced a loss of honor when she was stripped of her York City Freedom Honor due to her associations with Epstein.
Royal expert Hilary Fordwich shared her thoughts on this news, suggesting it may bring a much-needed uplift to the family, considering the ongoing stress surrounding Eugenie’s parents. “This is welcome news for the couple as their father’s actions loom large over their lives,” Fordwich noted.
Another royal commentator, Ian Pelham Turner, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the significance of this announcement for Eugenie and her husband while hinting at the impact it would have on Andrew and Sarah, who are known for their close ties to their children and grandchildren.
Despite the excitement, some experts believe the focus will soon shift back to Eugenie’s parents. Richard Fitzwilliams remarked that while the news is undoubtedly good for Eugenie, the public’s gaze will likely return to the York family. He pointed out that during recent family events, Andrew and Sarah have maintained a low profile, and this pattern may continue as the attention on them persists.
