India Hicks, daughter of Pamela Mountbatten, has taken down a video from her website that featured Brooke Shields making remarks about Meghan Markle.
The now-deleted clip originally appeared on her Sackak Page, where Shields called the Duchess of Sussex “too precious.”
Hicks, 57, faced backlash from fans of Markle, who responded harshly online, according to reports.
One frustrated fan expressed their feelings on social media, suggesting that Markle seems to incite negative reactions.
Critics have also labeled Shields and Hicks as “racist Karen” for their comments in the video.
Shields, a former fashion model, has since replaced the clip with one highlighting London’s best patisseries, perhaps to dodge further controversy.
Hicks, born in 1967, is the daughter of Pamela Mountbatten, who was closely associated with Queen Elizabeth II. She was a bridesmaid at the wedding of King Charles and Princess Diana in 1981.
In a podcast episode, Hicks interviewed Shields on various subjects, including a negative encounter with Markle.
Shields mentioned that during a past public discussion at an event in Austin, Texas, hosted by Katie Couric, Markle shared how she began advocating for women at a young age.
Shields recalled an instance from their conversation where she interjected to lighten the mood, saying, “I have to get in the way for a minute.” She added that she aimed to keep the discussion engaging.
In referencing her own history, Shields humorously noted that when she was 11, her role was quite different from Markle’s narrative.
Overall, Shields seemed to feel that her comments helped ease the tension in the room during the event.
