The Raptors are looking to add depth to their roster.
They will receive Davion Mitchell, Sasha Bezenkov and a second-round pick (No. 45) from the Kings. According to ESPN:Traded for Jalen McDaniels.
Mitchell, an NCAA Tournament winner with Butler, averaged 5.3 points in 15.3 minutes per game for the Kings last year.
The Kings selected him with the ninth overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, and he had a promising rookie season with the team, averaging 11.5 points and 4.2 assists per game while playing a larger role and averaging 27.7 minutes per game.
However, he struggled in his second year in the league, averaging just 5.6 points per game, and his performance has declined even further this year.
Bezenkov averaged just 5.4 points per game last year in his first year in the NBA.
McDaniels averaged 3.4 points per game last year.
The deal puts the Kings under the luxury tax and frees up roster space.
They’ve already had a busy offseason, bringing back Malik Monk on a four-year, $78 million contract and drafting former Providence star Devin Carter with the 13th pick on Wednesday night.
The Kings failed to make it out of the play-in tournament this year, and the Raptors failed to reach the postseason.
