Former Congressman Adam Kintzinger (R-Ill.) said Democrats “have a surprise and flat foot” after actions taken by high-tech billionaire Elon Musk and his government efficiency (DOGE) in the federal government. He said it looked like he had stepped in.
Early this weekKinzinger said in a post on Social Platform X that he was “old enough to remember when there were three branches of government.”
“Forget checks and balance. I think we're muscocracy right now,” he continued.
Two days later, Kinzinger He responded earlier X says he's “I'm going to keep attacking this: Democrats are the only political opposition.”
“It took them three months to prepare for these actions,” the former House member added. “And they look surprised and flat.”
Over the past few weeks, Doge leader Musk has deployed staff to multiple agencies and has access to the Department of Personnel Management (OPM) and the Ministry of Finance databases.
Later last week, an employee of the United States International Development Organization (USAID) took administrative leave after refusing to hand over materials classified as Doge.
David Lebrick, a non-political official at the Treasury Department, left the job at the end of last week.
Lebryk's retirement followed a clash over a request from Doge for access to the payment system used by Treasury officials to pay the funds.
On Monday, Kinzinger told House Democrats to “go out there and do something” about tech billionaire Elon Musk.
“All these agencies where employees are locked out, how about you send members of council with those employees and stepping them into work or just sending members? [of] Congress enters the building and investigates what these people are doing and dares to stop them so they can't stop you because they can't,” Kinzinger said in a video posted to X. 。
“Okay, that's a free idea,” he added. “Why are former Republicans coming up with all the ideas? Get out there and do something, you're in the minority. Your message is your weapon. Use your message and Please stop staying at home.”
The hill reached out to the White House, the Democratic National Committee and the Doge for comment.
