Kirk Cameron States ‘God Is Not Finished with America’ at Significant ‘See You at the Library’ Event

Kirk Cameron’s Story Time at the Library of Congress

Christian actor and author Kirk Cameron delivered a message to the church during a children’s story time at the National Capital Library, stating, “God is not done with America.” This event took place at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., on August 16. Cameron was among several prominent Christian figures participating in this initiative, organized in conjunction with the Department of Education’s Faith Center. Missy Robertson, known for her connection to Duck Dynasty, also joined the event in D.C.

This year marked the second year since Cameron’s book, As You Grow, was released. He noted that when he faced pushback previously for wanting to read faith-based children’s books—while the library welcomed Drag Queen storytimes—it highlighted a significant double standard.

Fast forward two years, Cameron now found himself welcomed by government officials, reading in a national library, which is one of the largest research libraries in the world.

In a statement, Cameron expressed his excitement about the invitation, suggesting it reflects a change in the cultural climate. “There’s a fresh ocean breeze where families are looking for opportunities to go back to the values that made America great,” he remarked.

“This year, we have been invited by the Trump administration and the Department of Education to teach our children the truths about love, faith, and hope,” Cameron said.

During the event, Cameron read from his book, Pride Comes Before the Fall, which encourages children to embrace humility. He shared on social media that the experience “exceeded my hopes and expectations.” Cameron then stated, “This happens when faith does not recede. Instead of begging for a seat at the cultural table, I built a new one, and we were welcomed.”

Reflecting on past challenges, Cameron pointed out that he and his book had previously felt “locked out of the library.” He noted an optimistic shift, saying, “How the tide is changing!”

Meanwhile, Robertson read from her book, Because You’re My Family, which emphasizes unconditional love and illustrates the parallels between divine love and parental love. She highlighted the significance of sharing God’s Word publicly, urging parents to take initiative in instilling values in their children rather than relying solely on external influences.

“Start talking to them about Jesus when they’re young. It’s essential to keep those conversations going,” she advised.

Cameron expressed hope for the future, stating, “I truly believe that God is not done with America, and we can achieve greatness again.” He also emphasized that true guidance comes not from political laws but from the power of God working in people’s hearts.
