Building Bonds Through Meals: Kirk Cousins’ Approach
The Las Vegas Raiders quarterback, Kirk Cousins, has recently turned to food as a way to strengthen relationships with his teammates this season.
Things didn’t start off smoothly between Cousins and standout defensive end Maxx Crosby during training camp. There was a bit of a scuffle over a couple of hits to Cousins’ throwing arm, which, well, led to some tension. Not exactly the ideal beginning for a rapport, right? However, they managed to clear the air, even sharing a dinner in New Orleans that helped solidify Crosby’s view of Cousins.
Crosby recounted their dinner experience on his podcast. “I think it was Friday when we got to New Orleans. We settled down to eat around 8, just hanging out with a big group. We ended up chatting at the table for like two hours—stayed until about 10 p.m.,” he mentioned, noting that he, Cousins, and rookie Brock Bowers were part of this gathering.
“We just couldn’t stop laughing about the most random stuff. That’s what it’s all about. So, a big shout out to Kirk—great leader, great teammate, and just an awesome player,” Crosby added.
Crosby also touched on Cousins sharing In-N-Out with rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza, which highlights the connection that’s growing between these quarterbacks.
Fans of the Raiders will likely feel reassured knowing these two key players have aligned their interests once more. In fact, the entire team seems to be unified through their first three games of the season.
