Baker Mayfield and Kirk Cousins briefly became teammates ahead of the Falcons' overtime win on Thursday, with the two pledging $50,000 each to support Hurricane Helen disaster relief efforts.
The pair made the pledge in a video posted to social media, saying their donations would go to Team Rubicon, a veteran-led humanitarian organization.
“They have volunteers on the front lines getting their hands dirty to do all the work necessary to clean up,” Cousins said in the video.
The two NFC South quarterbacks also called on the public to do what they can to support relief efforts in the South following devastating natural disasters.
“We stand with those affected,” Mayfield said. “We honor the lives lost and the families who are still suffering. Together, we can make a difference.”
Several NFL teams are also contributing to hurricane relief efforts, with contributions from the Falcons, Panthers, Texans, Buccaneers and NFL Foundation totaling $8 million.
