KJ Biermann, a 15-year-old, has been indicted on charges of child molestation and various counts of sexual battery involving a child under 16, as per court documents. A Fulton County grand jury issued a total of seven charges, which also encompass aggravated sodomy and false imprisonment.
This indictment follows KJ’s arrest last month, which stemmed from an alleged incident in April. At that time, he faced two felony charges related to the case, according to the documents.
In the wake of these allegations, Kim Zolciak, KJ’s mother and a star of “Real Housewives of Atlanta”, has publicly denied the accusations against her son. KJ was taken into custody in Alpharetta, Georgia, and charged with both aggravated sexual battery and aggravated sodomy on August 17.
Under Georgia’s SB440 law, KJ is being prosecuted as an adult, which allows superior courts to try teenagers aged 13 to 17 for certain violent felonies.
Currently, KJ is being held without bond at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center, awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for September.
In a statement, Zolciak defended her son, calling the allegations “reckless and deeply troubling.” She expressed that KJ denies any involvement with the woman making the claims. She also mentioned that he took a polygraph test and passed, and that DNA evidence has not connected him to the case. Additionally, Zolciak noted that the accuser has made similar allegations against others, indicating a pattern that raises serious concerns.
Zolciak highlighted the impact of false allegations, stating they can devastate both the accused and actual survivors of abuse. She emphasized that while all claims must be taken seriously, no one should be judged purely based on accusations before the truth is established.
She concluded by affirming her confidence that evidence will clarify the situation and urged the public to await the proper legal process rather than spreading unverified claims.
KJ is the eldest son of Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann, who also share three other children: Kash, 14, and twins Kaia and Kane, 12. Kroy adopted Zolciak’s daughters, Ariana and Brielle, from her previous relationship.
