Klay Thompson criticizes former NBA players for their remarks about Megan Thee Stallion

Klay Thompson, the guard for the Dallas Mavericks, has expressed his disappointment regarding inappropriate remarks made by former NBA players Patrick Beverley and Jason Williams about his girlfriend, rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

Diving into a recent episode of Barstool Sports’ podcast “Whoopin’ and Hollerin’,” Beverley and Williams hinted that Stallion could be linked to Thompson’s recent struggles on the court.

Beverley remarked, “I’ve never seen Klay not shoot like this, and then brought up Megan. His routine seems to have fallen apart. It’s not her fault, but it’s tough to juggle everything. Maybe he’s losing some focus.”

Williams also didn’t hold back. He stated, “It really only takes one thing to throw everything off balance. I don’t want to say that’s the case, but it’s a possibility.” He acknowledged Megan’s qualities but questioned whether she was ideal for Thompson’s game.

Beverley added a rather blunt comment about Stallion’s height and how it could affect Thompson.

In response, Thompson took to Instagram, commenting on a video of the podcast discussion. He challenged Beverley directly, saying, “How would you feel if I spoke to your wives like that? Come on, guys. I’m really disappointed.”

Megan Thee Stallion has yet to publicly respond to the remarks. Meanwhile, Thompson’s performance has been shaky, averaging 8.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while only shooting 32 percent overall.

Thompson’s struggles led Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd to shift him to a bench role recently. In a game against the Suns, he managed to score 19 points but with a shooting percentage that hasn’t been up to par.

After playing off the bench, Thompson shared, “I’m actually enjoying it… It lets me see how the game unfolds, which helps me focus better.” He emphasized that being in his 15th NBA year, he’s giving his all, regardless of whether it’s November or June.

Thompson’s goal for the season seems focused on staying consistent, even as other players like D’Angelo Russell and Brandon Williams have joined the starting lineup.

Megan, who hails from Houston, frequently attends Mavericks games and has become a familiar face. Recently, they suggested moving in together via an Instagram post.

The couple went public in July when Megan shared photos of them together, enjoying leisure time and workouts, giving fans a glimpse into their relationship.
