Klay Thompson has officially parted ways with the Warriors after 13 seasons.
Thompson joined the Mavericks in a sign-and-trade deal on a three-year, $50 million contract.
The 34-year-old took to Instagram on Friday to share an emotional post aimed at Warriors fans.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the best times of my life. It has been an honor to wear a Warriors jersey from day one,” the post read. “The best part isn’t the ring, it’s the friendships I’ve made that will last a lifetime.”
Thompson won four championships as a member of the Warriors and appeared in five All-Star Games.
He has made the sixth-most three-pointers in NBA history.

The Warriors did not offer Thompson a replacement this season but have stated they will retire his No. 11 jersey when he retires.
“Don’t be sad that it’s over, rejoice that it’s happened. Until we meet again. The captain has sailed,” Thompson concluded her post.
He now joins Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving on the Mavericks, who lost to the Celtics in the NBA Finals.
