It’s the end of an era for the Golden State Warriors.
Klay Thompson, who spent 13 seasons in the Bay Area and won four NBA titles, recently agreed to a three-year, $50 million contract with the Dallas Mavericks.
Golden State selected him 11th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft out of Washington State University, and he became a great player for the Warriors.

Thompson’s number will one day hang from the ceiling at Chase Center, and he was a key contributor on all four of those championship teams, solidifying his status as one of the greatest shooters of all time.
On Friday night, Thompson posted a message thanking the Warriors and their fans for giving him “the best time of my life.”
“To my fellow Bay Area fans, there are not enough words or images to express how I feel about you all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the best times of my life. It has been an honor to wear a Warriors jersey from day one,” Thompson said. wrote on Instagram With photos from the first press conference with the team.

This was Thompson’s first free agent season, and despite playing his most games since the 2018-19 season, his 17.9 points per game average was his lowest since the 2012-13 season.
Stephen Curry and Thompson Splash Brothers, They are one of the best shooting duos in NBA history, and their track record speaks for itself.
With Thompson gone, Curry becomes the longest-tenured player on any team in the league.

Thompson’s 2,481 three-pointers made ranks sixth all-time. He’ll never pass Curry, but he’s ahead of Reggie Miller (fifth with 2,560) and could pass Ray Allen (second with 2,973). Two active players (James Harden and Damian Lillard) are ahead of him.
