Oddsmakers are less optimistic about the Knicks’ chances of winning an NBA title, giving them the fifth-best odds to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy (+900).
They sit in the middle of a group of clear favorites along with the Celtics, Thunder, Nuggets, 76ers, Timberwolves, Mavericks and Bucks with odds of 17/1 or better to win the title in 2024-25.
In the Eastern Conference, the Knicks (+470) are behind the reigning champion Boston Celtics (+140) and 76ers (+420) in terms of their chances of winning the conference.
The Knicks completed a 50-win season for the first time since 2012-13, just the third time since 2000 and have made the playoffs for the third time in the past four seasons.
Their recent success earned head coach Tom Thibodeau a three-year contract extension that will keep them in New York through the 2027-28 season.
