Knicks expected to sign Shake Milton to give team depth amid injury woes

The Knicks are holding off on signing veteran guard Shake Milton, which would add another veteran with CAA ties to their depleted roster.

Milton, whose contract was bought out by the Pistons on Friday, plans to sign with the Knicks once he clears waivers, sources confirmed to the Post’s Stephen Bondy.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the news.

The sixth-year guard is represented by CAA (the former agent of Knicks president Leon Rose), specifically Andrew Morrison, the same agent who represents OG Anunoby and Isaiah Hartenstein. Serving as a person.

Milton, 27, is averaging 8.7 points in 296 NBA games, including 42 games this season with the Timberwolves and Pistons.

Milton, who played under Larry Brown at SMU, was traded to Detroit at the Feb. 8 deadline in a deal that sent Monte Morris to Minnesota.

According to Bondi, Milton will be absent when the Knicks play the Cavaliers on Sunday because he has not yet cleared waivers.
