Knicks fans go wild in 76ers’ Wells Fargo Center after Game 4

Wells Fargo Center may need to be renamed Madison Square Garden South.

A home game for the 76ers now sounds like a home game for the Knicks, as they beat the Sixers 97-92 in Game 4 on Sunday and took a 3-1 series lead.

Knicks fans made their presence known in the building as the frenzy continued, with Jalen Brunson dropping 47 points to set a new franchise playoff record.

And Nick’s excited fan base made the trip to Philadelphia, partying on the way out of the building, with a group seen on video celebrating at the front door.

In one video posted on social media, a group could be seen jumping up and down and cheering, mimicking the scene outside MSG after the wins in Games 1 and 2.

Another video showed what appeared to be the same group. chanting “fk embiid”,” referring to 76ers superstar Joel Embiid, who could be heard yelling “Knicks in Five” as fans descended the Wells Fargo Center escalator.

Outside Wells Fargo Some fans were seen trying to wear Knicks jerseys. After riding on a statue of legendary 76ers player Wilt Chamberlain and stomping on what looked like a Sixers flag, chants of “Go, New York, go!” began.

“I just finished interviewing Sixers fans, and in all the years I’ve worked here, I’ve never seen a fan base as expansive as the Knicks fans here.” Posted by Spencer McKercher, video producer for NBC Sports Philadelphia on X. “There are people selling Knicks shirts on the concourse outside. What’s going on?”

Sixers head coach Nick Nurse told reporters he doesn’t place much emphasis on having a large crowd of Knicks fans for Game 4.

But Embiid had other feelings about visiting New Yorkers occupying the building.

“It’s a shame. I love our fans. I think it’s a shame and I don’t blame them, but it’s a shame.” Embiid told reporters. “Obviously, there are a lot of Knicks fans and there always will be, but I’ve never seen one, and I’ve been here for 10 years. Yeah, especially since Philadelphia is considered a sports city. I’m a little angry because they’ve always shown up and I don’t think that should happen.”
