Knicks fans rip Candace Parker for Jalen Brunson dig

Knicks fans couldn't let Candice Parker get away with this mistake.

“NBA on TNT” analyst Parker said: said on tuesday night Jalen Brunson did not play well in the Knicks' Eastern Conference semifinal series loss to the Heat last year.

“I’ve seen Jalen Brunson play in the playoffs when the game slows down and becomes a stalemate. [Mavericks]And he came on as No. 2 and No. 3, played a few minutes and filled in for Luka. [Doncic] Parker said before the Knicks' 108-103 road win over the Nets.

However, a closer look at the numbers tells a different story.

Brunson averaged 24 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game, leading the Knicks to an overwhelming victory over the Cavaliers in the first round.

In the second round against Miami, Brunson actually increased those numbers to 31 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game.

The Knicks lost to Miami in six games, but Brunson doesn't deserve to be blamed for that loss.

As expected, Knicks fans lashed out at Parker for the X.

“Your disrespect and lies towards Branson are pathetic!” @EverythinKnicks account tweeted.

“Jalen Brunson played better in the second round, averaging 31 points and 6 assists on 50% field goal percentage…did you even watch the playoffs?” Or, look up the stats before you say something off-topic. why do not you? This is embarrassing @Candace_Parker.” Tweeted by @MarshallGreen_ of Chat Sports.

Parker also said he agreed with Becky Hammon's assessment that the 6-foot-2 guard is not the go-to option for a championship team.

Part of her knock on Brunson appears to be his lack of defense, which may have influenced her view of his performance against Miami.

“Also, I think we're talking about offensive stuff. But defensively as well – if you look at what the Warriors had to do defensively with Stephen Curry, they We needed to put other top defenders around him,” Parker said.
