Knicks' Josh Hart captured on video during memorable moment with Jalen Brunson at NBA Cup

The New York Knicks had quite the celebration for their NBA Cup victory in Las Vegas on Tuesday. Jalen Brunson, who was named the tournament’s MVP, shared the spotlight with his teammates but got a humorous surprise from his close friend, Josh Hart.

As Karl-Anthony Towns lifted the trophy, Brunson and Hart took a moment to cheer him on. That’s when Hart playfully reached out to touch Brunson, catching everyone off guard.

This moment was captured by cameras, and Hart later acknowledged it online, humorously admitting, “Damn. In 4K.” To deflect, he joked that “it was an AI.” The duo, who played college basketball together at Villanova, won two championships before Brunson signed with the Knicks in 2022 and Hart joined a year later.

Brunson, clearly enjoying the moment, reflected on their celebration, stating, “This is great and we’re going to enjoy this. But if we leave tomorrow, we’ll move on.” Last year, the Knicks reached the Eastern Conference Finals but fell short against the Indiana Pacers, marking their deepest playoff run since 2000. Now, they’re aiming for their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999.

Knicks coach Mike Brown emphasized the importance of every game in this single-elimination format, noting the pressure felt at each step. Achieving success, he believes, boosts the confidence of everyone in the organization.

The Knicks are excited about their recent accomplishments, but they have their sights set even higher as they look to build on this success.
